Statement on U.S. Government Exhausting Supply of H-1B Visas in Less Than A Week

Press Releases

Published: April 7, 2014

Following the announcement by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that they had run out of their annual allotment of H-1B visas, New American Economy Chairman John Feinblatt issued the following statement:

“It took less than a week to hit the existing cap on visas for high-skilled workers. Clearly, we are keeping talent out of our country and preventing American companies from growing,” said Chairman of New American Economy John Feinblatt. “It makes no sense for American companies to create jobs only to be forced to send those jobs abroad because of arcane immigration laws. It’s time for Congress to enact a system that helps American competitiveness instead of stifling our economy.”
