Milk production and cow numbers in the dairy state are creeping upward, according to the latest USDA, National Ag Statistics Service Milk Production report.
Milk production in Wisconsin during January 2017 totaled 2.54 billion pounds, up 1 percent from the previous January. The average number of milk cows during January, at 1.28 million head, was 1,000 more than last month and the same as last January.
Monthly production per cow averaged 1,985 pounds, up 20 pounds from last January.
Farm group supports National Day of Action
MADISON – The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation supports the New American Economy’s National Day of Action and immigration reform campaign.
