Statement on Senator Orrin Hatch’s Immigration Innovation Bill

Press Releases

Following the reintroduction of Senator Hatch’s Immigration Innovation Bill, New American Economy issued the following statement:

“We need high-skilled immigration reform, especially as we face labor shortages in areas like engineering, medicine, and science,” said John Feinblatt, President of New American Economy. “But we also need a system that protects and prioritizes American workers. Senator Hatch’s legislation strikes the right balance by expanding avenues to recruit top talent, while ensuring adequate wage requirements and increasing penalties for companies that displace Americans. That is exactly the type of constructive progress we need to help our economy grow and compete globally.”
