NAE Statement on Senate Immigration Results

Press Releases

Published: February 15, 2018

After the Senate failed to pass an immigration compromise this afternoon, New American Economy released the following statement:

“So far senators have brought three credible, bipartisan deals to the table. None has reached the finish line, but with the support of a majority of Americans and bipartisan negotiations still taking place in the Senate, a much-needed and potentially historic fix for Dreamers and border security remains in reach,” said John Feinblatt, President of New American Economy. “Right now, as more Dreamers lose status and American companies feel the economic pinch, it’s imperative the Senate get back to the drawing board and find a path to 60 votes.”
