Statement for the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest on “The Impact of High-Skilled Immigration on U.S. Workers”

The American Immigration Council submitted a written statement to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest for a Feburary 25, 2016 hearing on “The Impact of High-Skilled Immigration on U.S. Workers.” The statement shares our analysis and research regarding the impact of high-skilled immigration on the U.S. economy. The statement highlights the critical role that high-skilled foreign employees can bring, especially with regards to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). High-skilled foreign workers often complement their U.S.-born counterparts, help to create new jobs, and create new opportunities for economic expansion. In sum, the statement explains the positive impact that high-skilled foreign workers have on our economy.
