The American Immigration Council submitted a written statement to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary for a December 2, 2015 hearing on “Oversight of the Administration’s Criminal Alien Removal Policies.” The statement shares our analysis and research regarding the Obama’s administration removal and enforcement policies and the effect they have on communities. The statement highlights our key findings with regards to the push to criminalize immigration, the biases, the shortcomings of the Criminal Alien Program (CAP), and finally sets out clarifications on Sanctuary Cities.
