The American Immigration Council submitted a written statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee for a March 15, 2016 hearing on “The Impact of High-Skilled Immigration of U.S. workers.” The statement shares our analysis and research on how immigrants play a vital role in our nation and economy. We highlight statistics that emphasize the benefits immigrants have on the U.S. econonmy. Immigrant and native born workers complement each other. Moreover, immigrant workers are more likely to create their buisnesses in the United States which in turns creates more jobs for all. In sum, our statement emphasizes that need to support and pass bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform that is good for buisness, good for workers, and good for families.
