Hilda Bonilla

Hilda Bonilla is the Legal Coordinator at the American Immigration Council. She works closely with the Legal Department providing litigation, advocacy, and administrative support. Before joining the Council, Hilda interned at various NGOs such as the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and Human Rights First, where she conducted interviews in Spanish with unaccompanied minors and family units in removal proceedings. She also interned at U.S. Senator Cory Booker’s Office in Newark, New Jersey and Peace Boat US in New York. Hilda wrote her undergraduate thesis on the handling of unaccompanied minors in the United States and participated in semester long programs at the United Nations and the Semester in Washington Politics at the George Washington University. She earned her B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Drew University.
