Congress returns next week from a hot July 4 recess and faces another scorcher: immigration reform.
Following an overwhelming 2-to-1 vote in the Senate for comprehensive reform that includes a path to citizenship for 11 million immigrants, the House will now decide how to proceed.
The tact taken in the Republican-led House will be far different than what was witnessed in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, is calling a closed-door caucus with Republicans on July 10 to determine whether to take up the Senate bill, or take up separate bills dealing with immigration that are passed by House committees.
