Rupert Murdoch: Donald Trump is wrong

Published: July 14, 2015

Rupert Murdoch, the 21st Century Fox/News Corp. chief who has long pushed the Republican Party to embrace immigration reform, took Donald Trump to task over the weekend for his recent controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants:

The public admonition may surprise those who associate Murdoch’s Fox News with Trump’s anti-immigrant views. In fact, Murdoch has always been an advocate for immigration reform, but Fox News’ editorial content is driven by the channel’s chairman and chief executive, Roger Ailes, not by his boss.

Trump, whose controversial remarks have dominated the news cycle, is currently polling in the top tier nationally, second only to Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. He has also promised to file all his necessary paperwork as soon as this week, making him perfectly eligible for the first Republican primary debate in August, which will air on Fox News.
