Senate Passes Comprehensive Immigration Reform Legislation

Published: June 27, 2013

The following is the statement of Mayor Bloomberg on the Senate passing comprehensive immigration reform legislation:

“Today we are one step closer to the biggest overhaul of our immigration laws in a generation. This bill will allow us to attract the talented and hard-working people who want to come and stay here to work and start businesses – and help our economy grow. A strong bi-partisan group of Senators voted to pass the bill because they understand that fixing our broken immigration system is critical to our economic future. Now, it’s imperative that the House take up this issue, rise above partisanship, and send a comprehensive immigration reform bill to the President for his signature.”
