Following the re-introduction of a bill by Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT-3) that will eliminate country caps for employment-based visas, New American Economy Chairman John Feinblatt issued the following statement:

“Our immigration laws need to be smarter. How to determine who receives employment visas should be based on the applicant’s skills and the needs of the American economy, not what country he or she comes from,” said John Feinblatt, Chairman of New American Economy. “We applaud Congressman Chaffetz on re-introducing his legislation to eliminate arbitrary country caps and we encourage Congress to pass this quickly.”
