Statement from NAE Executive Director Jeremy Robbins on DHS Memorandum on Worksite Enforcement

Following the Department of Homeland Security’s announcement of a new enforcement strategy ending worksite raids, New American Economy issued the following statement:

“Rather than targeting individuals who pose a threat to public safety and national security, mass worksite raids sow fear and distrust and lead to racial profiling of immigrant and U.S.-born workers, with devastating consequences for their families and communities,” said Jeremy Robbins, Executive Director of New American Economy. “We applaud the Biden-Harris administration’s decision to end the use of worksite raids and take a more sensible, targeted approach to immigration enforcement that keeps Americans safe and holds employers accountable.”
