Following the introduction of the State Sponsored Visa Pilot Program Act that would allow states to tailor guest worker programs to meet their individual workforce needs, New American Economy President John Feinblatt issued the following statement:

“Giving states the right to issue visas to workers their local economies need is a creative approach to strengthening the economy and improving our immigration system while Washington is stalled on reform,” said John Feinblatt, President of New American Economy. “We applaud Senator Johnson and Representative Buck on the introduction of the State Sponsored Visa Pilot Program Act, which would support the growth of local industries and create American jobs.”
