Although West Virginia has not historically had a large immigrant population, the number of foreign-born residents living in the state has increased in recent years. Between 2010 and 2014, West Virginia’s foreign-born population grew by 19 percent, which is more than three times faster than the immigrant population increased in the country as a whole.
