Erika Acosta

Legal Coordinator

Erika Acosta is the Legal Coordinator for the American Immigration Council. She works with the legal department providing litigation, advocacy, and administrative support. More specifically, she is tasked with updating the legal section of the Council’s website, coordinating meetings and events, maintaining schedules, and organizing government records. Based out of Houston, Texas, Erika previously worked providing social services and coordinating events with Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. Prior to this, Erika worked at YMCA International Services, a legal-service provider, as a legal assistant and then as a Partially Accredited DOJ Representative. Here she worked directly with people in immigration custody (at the time or previously) and with clients submitting a multitude of applications to USCIS. Erika holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Texas A&M University.
